Getting started

The programlet comes up with the page:

The fist row shows the Officium which is collected, the second line (if any) is the officium which is commemorated. Feast are shown in red, the vigilias and offices of Santa Maria in blue, the Feria or Simplex commemoratio is black.

In the next line the widget after the title allows to reset the date. The programlet always comes up with the current date, you may select a different date, by pressing
  • &darr down arrow for the prevous day
  • up arrow for the nex day
  • typing in a new date.
After the change you must press the button next to the widget, to get the new office
You may also change the date by clicking on Kalendarium tab select an other date, by clicking the day tab in the first column.

Please have patience, the programlet is on the making, only a limited time interval is covered. If the proper officium does not come up at the top, the collection will be taken only from the Ordinarium and Psalterium.

The images only remind, that the Officium is collected from the
  • Ordinarium = the frame of the Horas
  • Psalterium = the body of the Horas, the psalms
  • Proprium de tempore = the days as they are part of the seasons of the Chuch year
  • Proprium Sanctorum = the feasts of the saints
  • Commune Sanctorum = the common part of the officiums for the saints
You will see details et de rubrics description.

The ten buttons in blue show the eight ours of the Officium Divinum; also the prayers Ante(Aperi Domine) and Post(Sacrosanctae) Divine officium (Sacrosanctea); you may select one by clicking on it.

If you get here, you already used the Help button from the bottom. Try now Setup button to, to get the table:

The detailed manual page will explan the table, now only check or uncheck the priest box, so you will recite the Dominus vobiscum or the Domine exaudi as for those below the diaconate is required. Click OK to get to the main table again. If your computer allows cookies, the values will be saved for the next session

The widgets on the bottom row allows you to control how the collection is shown. Click now on skeleton and click on Completorium button.

Only the Psalmi and the Preces are changeable, the rest is from the Ordinarium. Other horas are more complex, click on the name of each hora, the black comment indicate the source of the chapter.

If you click on any radiobutton next to the chapter title, that part will be expanded. Click an another to change the expanded part, or on the same chapter's button again, to revoke the expansion.

The picture shows the final Oratio expanded, and the equivalent of the Dominus vobiscum the Domine exaudi as popup.

To pray the hora, you select any other mode than skeleton:
  • all types everything, including the common prayers
  • psalms only indicates the common prayers
  • none types only the ordinarium, the psalms, lections and othe longer items are only indicated.
In the last two cases you may click the button next to the indicated name, and the text will come up in a separate window, the popup
